Women's Stress Reduction Series.
Zeal Family Wellness, LLC is excited to partner with Melissa Leger, founder of Mindful Yoga Chicago, to offer this 8-week series designed for women who need a reprieve from the busy day-to-day challenges of being a mom. Taking care of ourselves often falls to the bottom of our to-do lists, yet without healthy stress management and self-care practices, we struggle to be fully present for our families. Join us as we explore new strategies for reducing stress and living a more balanced and relaxed lifestyle.
The course is based on the stress-reduction principles of yoga, mindful movement, and healthy emotional coping to help participants gain skills to curtail burnout and manage difficult emotions like anxiety, stress, overwhelm, and fatigue. Together we will practice meditation techniques, self-awareness, mindful communication, yoga and mindful movement, and parenting with intention.
Identify how your body responds to stress.
Live in the present moment with your family instead of worrying about the future or problems from the past.
Create grounding practices to better manage stressful moments and decrease unhelpful thoughts.
Integrate simple daily practices to build a foundation of mindfulness.
Communicate effectively with loved ones and best manage any conflicts that may arise.
Engage compassionately with yourself and your children to bring even more joy into your hearts and homes.
Build resilience and gain a sense of empowerment.
Mild anxiety or stress related to parenting, family, work, or finances.
Difficulty getting to sleep or staying asleep.
Fatigue or a general sense of being overwhelmed.

The session runs April 22, 2020 - June 10, 2020
Wednesdays, 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm with an optional retreat day on Saturday, May 16, 2020 from 10:00 am - 3:00 pm
There will be no meeting on Wednesday, May 20, 2020

About the Instructors.
Melissa Leger is a level 2 MBSR Instructor and Yoga Instructor. She has 20 years of experience practicing yoga and incorporated mindfulness into her practice 8 years ago. Presently, Melissa leads yoga teacher trainings and retreats and continues to instruct mindfulness and stress reduction courses in the community. Her goal is to help create mindful, more compassionate communities by making yoga and mindfulness practices more accessible and in an easy to understand format that works well with today's on-the-go lifestyles.
